Actaea pachypoda - Doll's Eyes
A woodland native preferring shade and richer soils. White blooms occur in May-June. Also called White Baneberry, Doll's Eyes were named for a "pupil" mark on the ends of the white berries. The berries extend from the stem on reddish stalks and last 4-6 weeks in late summer/early fall. Baneberry plants are poisonous and should never be eaten.
